Global Family Séjour in Munich 2016

For the 9th time, 60 family members from all over the world came together to participate in the Global Family Séjour. The venue for the Global Family Séjour, held on 13 and 14 October 2016, was the IESE Campus in Munich, which opened last year.

The key question for discussion this year was: Is there a Future for Family Purpose and Traditional Values in a Post-Modern World? Inspiring presentations by H.E. Freiherr Albrecht von Boeselager, Grand Chancellor of the Order of Malta, and Markus Langes-Swarovski, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Swarovski International Holding, case studies moderated by experts, practical workshops, as well as a panel discussion with two families from different cultures and generations, stimulated intensive discussions among the participants. They reflected and debated extensively on subjects such as values, the meaning of life, identity and family cohesion – extending over generations. Once again, the openness and frankness of the families were remarkable. Even if there is no single solution for many of life’s situations, every participant certainly benefitted from the comprehensive and honest exchange of ideas and views, and their awareness of these challenging and often emotionally charged issues has been raised further. The seminar’s attractive supporting program enabled the family members to get to know each other better, an aspect that was particularly appreciated by participants from abroad.

The 10th anniversary Global Family Séjour is already being planned. Should you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
