Prof. Ernst Peter Fischer was born in 1947 in Wuppertal, Germany. He studied mathematics and physics at the University of Cologne, before graduating in biology from the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, USA. He received his doctorate in 1977 and qualified as a professor of science history in 1987.
Amongst his other activities, Fischer works as an advisor for the Forum for Responsibility foundation and is co-editor of both «Human and Cosmos» and «The Future of the Earth». Furthermore, he teaches science history at the Universities of Constance, Basel and Heidelberg.
Fischer has written numerous articles on economics for the newspapers Weltwoche, Bild for Science, FAZ, and GEO. He is the author of more than 50 books and has received several awards for his publications.
