Dr. Martin Rüttenauer has a Ph.D. in language studies and philosophy and has undertaken over a decade of scientific research for the German Research Foundation at the University of Konstanz. He is a visiting professor at Tamkang University in Taiwan for philosophy and German language. In Taiwan he discovered a fascination for tai chi, martial arts, and mental training through one of the great tai chi masters. Dr. Rüttenauer is also a lecturer for Chinese studies and intercultural communication at the University for Applied Sciences in Konstanz.
Dr. Rüttenauer led the first study tour of European experts to Shaolin monastery in the early 80s, has had martial arts training in China and founded the German Chinese Wushu Taichi Academy in 1986 together with Meiling Wu. He has also co-produced show tours of Chinese artists and acrobats in Europe and been a tour operator for special interest tours to China.
